The puma gemini
The puma gemini is a great depiction of my multifaceted personality as well as a nod to my origins and favorite animal spieces. I was born in Amazonia and I love the feline world. Also, growing up in the Caribbean, the brand idem nomen was for sure one of our favorites and go-to sports brands. Felines are beautiful, fierce, smart, quick - knowing how to be both methodical and instinctive. They are silent and ruthless assassins that go for the kill. But they also have this very weird loving kindness for their own and others that makes most of them great companions. In a sense, they are very human and this is what freak us out the most about them as they outline the best and the worse of what we see in ourselves. But felines are also multidimensional full of contradictions beings, even the smallest of them - like cats - exude a high level of strengh and confidence when in reality they can be equaly as shy and fearful (and that goes for the biggest of them, like lions). Mothers can be as caring as they can be tough on their babies. This sense of duality is very present in me as in the things I create. I embrace it, I showcase it. In a sense, just like felines do, I portray the best and the worse of what’s inside of us all, unapologetically. I believe I probably was a feline in a previous lifetime. When I commissioned the puma gemini logo, it was for another project with a friend which never happened. A couple months later, stumbling across it in an unpredicted manner, I realized it just made sense for who I am as Yarden, the artist.
